The Best Lunar New Year Google Doodle

Billions of people around the world celebrate the start of the Year of the Rooster on January 28th this 2017. The rooster is of course featured as the centerpiece for the Lunar New Year Google Doodle this year, but we believe that it was the Snake in 2013 that will go down in history as the best Google Doodle for the Lunar New Year.

This year’s Google doodle for the  Chinese New Year (as many people call it) shows the Rooster surrounded by various objects that symbolize good luck and prosperity.

The art is nice and all, but it pales in comparison to the the 2013 Google Doodle. The Year of the Snake version was not just any drawing — it was an actual game! Google built an HTML5 game inspired by the classic arcade game, Snake, that became massively popular as built-in games in Nokia’s mobile phones.Google doodle chinese new year Snake 2013Here’s a short clip of the Snake Google doodle:
