LayaAir HTML5 Engine

The stable release of LayaAir 1.0.0 was recently released and developers have reason to be excited. Part of the LayaBox framework, it is an open source HTML5 engine developed for high performance games. Its display render prioritizes WebGL, but for systems with incompatible graphic cards, it automatically switches to Canvas. It is designed to be lightweight and easy to use, requiring a small size installation, and running without the need for a plugin.

LayaAir supports multiple languages — ActionScript 3.0, TypeScript, and JavaScript, and has functionality for 2D, 3D, VR, timeline animation controls, slow motion, UI system, particle animation, skeletal animation, physical systems, etc. What’s more, you only need to develop a single version of a project and it can be published simultaneously in 3 target platforms (Flash, HTML5, mobile). Working with LayaAir is made very user-friendly by the development tools and visual editor offered with the IDE.
