Google Chrome Update Affects HTML5 Games

Google Chrome’s latest update caused HTML5 games (H5 games for short) to experience several issues. The update was automatically muting the autoplay objects.

This change of policy stemmed from Google’s effort to reduce the use of ad blockers. Because of this policy update, games, or even other HTML5 content, became unplayable.

The game portal Itch.io recommended that developers update their “click to play” option to solve the issue. However, this will only work for games that were in their platform.
