Games as Marketing Campaigns – Lino City

Lino City is a fun endless runner game by a billion dollar European company food company Podravka. It’s a simple endless runner, but it showcases how games don’t have to be too complex to do their job – increase brand awareness.

The Lino company is baby food manufacturer that also has a presence with their brand of cereal, oatmeals, and similar products for children and babies, so the game they wanted to represent them is very simple – it’s an endless runner. It’s not procedurally generated, the levels are always the same, but the global scoreboard is what sets is apart from other endless runners, it lets you create an account and showcase your score against other players, a good motivation for a kid to play the game. There are also cosmetic upgrades that you can purchase with in-game currency. Their homepage also allows you to earn bonus points by answering the trivia about food.

The game was developed by MarketJS.
