Biomes – Chrome Experiment

This Chrome Experiment features noise-based generative biomes. In areas like terrain-generation, biomes are a way of classifying terrain types. Most biome generators are based on the ever popular Whittaker model, where biomes are classified based on precipitation and temperature.

You can click Randomize to create new ones or customize them yourself. You have the option of choosing Wave depth/width as well as the colours for Top, Bottom and Middle via the colour picker. They are created on a 2D plane but are basically viewable in 3D.

You can also save and download your creation in .ply format (Polygon File Format).
