A HTML5 game to promote O2
O2, the UK broadband and telco giant, also specializes in business technology for clients ranging from SMEs to huge corporations. They recently built an endless runner type of game called O2 Business Builders to highlight and promote their product offerings — software/applications, internet services, and devices/hardware. Each of the 3 levels in the game features these 3 products, respectively (e.g. you need to collect app icons in Level 1).
Players control the O2 Business character to collect as many items as they can in a single run. At the same time, they need to avoid obstacles (including signboards that say “Fewer Grants for Small Business” and “Stock Market Plummets”). Scores are recorded in the Leaderboards, which adds to the motivation to beat the high scores.
Cleverly placed within the game are the features of O2’s products and services. For example, written on the clouds are texts like “30 day rolling contracts” or “89% 4G outdoor population coverage and growing across the UK” and “Most flexible tariff in the market”.
