Online Game Competitions During The COVID-19 Pandemic

The use of games as online competitions has been trending ever since the COVID-19 Pandemic restrained everyone to stay at home. A lot of businesses found success in capturing marketing leads through prizes and rewards.

Smarter Communities, a property management company in Australia, developed an HTML5 game to engage its residents stuck at home. Its online competition involved fortnightly prizes and a final raffle draw.

The game is equipped with a leaderboard and a registration system and runs through a dedicated microsite. To participate in the competition and raffle, players must sign up at the start of the game. All registered players are qualified to join the grand raffle draw.
