Chrome Music Lab: Song Maker

Create melodies with the Song Maker. This Chrome Music Lab feature lets you create beats by simply marking a grid.

Each cell has a different pitch. The top cells are the high notes, while the bottom ones are low notes. Once you’ve marked the cells, select the percussion sounds underneath.

You can also record yourself singing through your device’s microphone. Once done, you can listen to your composition through string, synth, and woodwind instruments.

This experiment was made using a variety of tools like Web Audio API, WebRTC, WebMIDI, and Tone.js.

Create your musical masterpiece here.
