Casual HTML5 Game Streams Music from Soundcloud
You know you’re in for a different kind of experience when a game starts with a health hazard advisory. If you have Photosensitive Epilepsy, you might suffer a seizure from playing NeoTrap. You’ve been warned.
NeoTrap was created using WebGL and BabylonJS. At its core, it is an endless runner. You guide a cube along a path riddled with deadly cones.
But more than that, it is a different and graphic way to enjoy music. This 3D game’s creator describes it as “a music-based action game that can adjust itself to music in real-time. All the music used in this game is being streamed from SoundCloud using SoundCloud API.”
This means that the game slows down or speeds up with the music’s beat and tempo. The walls lining the path will even remind you of digital equalizer bars that move up and down with the music.
You won’t recognize any of the titles or artists in the track selection. But you may want to thank the dev for letting you discover some great music. We particularly liked Enigma by Jordan Comolli and Fire by TheUnder.
So put your headphones on and enjoy this visual and musical experience.
