Mozilla's Game On Competition 2013

The Mozilla Foundation has launched this years “Game On” Competition, which challenges participants to create games for the Open Web.

Prizes include an all-expenses-paid trip to GDC 2013 and marketing opportunities for your game.

The competition has three categories:

  1. Hackable Games
  2. Multi-Device Games
  3. Web-Only Games

Hackable games let players remix the code creative ways to create their own versions. Multi-device games “explore concepts like asymmetric gaming, alternate reality games, and companion apps.” Web-only games are games that could only be played on the web, using web-only mechanics such as links.

All games must run without plugins, but the game doesn’t need to be open-sourced.

Deadline for submission is February 24th.

For more details read the introductory blog post and head over to the official competition site.
