4-Part Creating a Simple Windows 8 Game with JavaScript Tutorial

Chris Bowen has written a 4-part series on SitePoint on creating a game for Windows 8 using JavaScript.

The tutorial series walks you through the steps of building Catapult Wars, a sample XNA game, using JavaScript and Web technologies.

To follow along you’ll need Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012, as the tutorial describes how to build a native Windows 8 app using JavaScript.

The tutorial is broken down into 4 parts, and uses HTML5, JavaScript, WinJS and CreateJS

  • Creating a Simple Windows 8 Game with JavaScript: Windows 8 App Basics
  • Creating a Simple Windows 8 Game with JavaScript: Game Basics & CreateJS/EaselJS
  • Creating a Simple Windows 8 Game with JavaScript: Game Logic
